Keeping Secrets

I am just the worst at keeping secrets. I simply cannot do it. It's not because I like ruining surprises for other people- it's not from a malicious place, I assure you. I get too excited! It's why I can't buy Christmas or birthday presents more than a few days in advance. I just want to tell.

So you can imagine how difficult this week has been for me. I've basically been avoiding my Mom. I can't talk to her for more than a few minutes without feeling like I might slip and say something. Now I'm starting to become paranoid thinking, "She knows! She knows something is going on!"

I'm really excited about our plan to share the news with our families. Like I said in an earlier post, both my Mom & my mother-in-law have big birthdays in the next couple of weeks. My mom's birthday is this weekend (the 25th). The plan is to wait until everyone is home- Lauren gets into town on Friday & Ashley gets in on Saturday. I'm not sure when we're doing presents- maybe before our dinner out on Saturday, or maybe after dinner. Either way, we plan to give Mom our present last. We got her a sweet little receiving blanket & little yellow hat. I cannot wait to see the look on her face! I'm hoping Rich will be able to catch the reactions on his phone.
